Bridge to Nowhere & Forgotten Worlds

I enjoyed everything on this tour - the Forgotten Highway, Jet boating on the Whanganui, the Whanganui Museum tour, Sergeant's Art gallery, the trip to the Gannet Colony, the small extra trips that were slotted in as we found them and the accommodation. Our guide was excellent - nothing was too much trouble. He worked extremely hard at ensuring that everything was first rate.

I arrived back home feeling exhausted ( but in a good way) having experienced activities and visited places that I had not encountered before and with a group of people who were friendly and like minded. Thank you!

I've always wanted to visit the Rhododendron gardens but had no idea how to start or how to organize. A huge thanks to Chris for making this trip so special, enjoyable and so much fun. You gave us so much knowledge and the tour had such excellent choices of gardens. Thank you!

This was my first trip on a group tour and I was very impressed with the MoaTours organisation and our guide Graeme's competent and caring manner. Overall a happy trip away with my Mum who had been very pleased to be able to take her walker to assist with the garden walks. Graeme was wonderfully informative, he was very helpful at all times and ran the tour schedule in a relaxed but efficient manner. Everything was wonderful and good fun.

A very enjoyable 6 days with many highlights, lots of fun and pleasant company. The lunches and garden walks each day were a real treat and far more enjoyable than queuing in a cafe. The timing of each day worked very well with sufficient coffee, comfort stops and stops for points of interest. 18 people on the bus was a good number - there weren't too many people to get off and then waiting for them all to get back on. I certainly felt looked after.

Am reporting in to say what a GREAT trip I had with MoaTours. I would rate it as 100% and I’ve done a few tours mainly out of NZ. Originally, when I booked I felt the amount I paid seemed such a lot for 6 days, however, at the end I felt it was worth every single cent. To be picked up/dropped off back home is absolutely stressless, The accommodation was superb – I’m certainly not used to staying in such posh places so appreciated it even more and the food was just great. The stunning manor houses we visited for lunches and the dinners at night were faultless.

Our guide Matt was so so professional and that I felt was the most important factor on the whole trip. The mix of people was so good and everyone got on so well together…18 is just the right number.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with your company, we had a good bunch aboard. Our guide Matt was really good value, he kept things moving at a good pace, his accounts of historical and topical things of the areas we visited and passed through were top notch, the quizzes were a great source of hilarity at times, I’m sure the rest of the crowd hadn’t eaten so many sweets in a long time. Our accommodation was great, and the houses, gardens and lunches were super, I really appreciated their catering to my dietary needs. We all made the same comment of ‘how do you find these places’, as they all were very different, and very enjoyable.  We thought the WOW show was terrific and our seats were spot on.  The meals were all good, special mention though for the Scenic Hotel, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, and the Dockside, although they were pushed to the limit, the maître d’ (I presume) made a special point of correcting my pre-order mistaken choice, was certainly impressed by that.

Many thanks for providing us with a memorable 6 days.

The other 16 people on our tour were all so bright and we had much fun. Matt our driver was excellent and had many quizzes with lollies for prizes. The accommodation was 5 star. The places for our stopover lunches, mostly at heritage homes were unbelievable. I loved their homes and the people. The WOW show was just as good as I was told about. Overall the tour was excellent. (from Coralie)

The World of WearableArt Awards Show blew us away and the accommodation was faultless. Visiting Napier was a real thrill seeing the video of the earthquake and the drive around Napier was eventful. (from Philip)

I would recommend MoaTours to older members of my family and friends, great company, no hassles, excellent accommodation and interesting stops. Prices are always higher when there is a small group, but this was accounted for when we saw the excellent standard of accommodations, excellent seats at WOW etc. Would rather pay a bit more to have the smaller group and the ease of being picked up and delivered home.

I enjoyed visiting the various homes for our lunch stops, places that I didn't know existed and having the access to these venues. I appreciated the ease of going to WOW being dropped off so close when walking is an issue and bags delivered and collected from our rooms.

We were planning to do our own touring in this region, but didn't fancy driving those long distances. Loved climbing up to Cape Palliser Lighthouse followed by fish and chips at Lake Ferry. Peter was engineer in the merchant navy and was thrilled with story of the fell engine at Featherston. I think if we left him he'd still be there. The guide, accommodation and meals were all excellent and the tour was excellent value overall.

Thoroughly enjoyed everything about the tour and its easy pace. It is difficult to choose a favourite as they were many and varied, but I particularly liked the garden visits where we had lunch provided by our hosts. Really enjoyed Stonehenge Aotearoa, Cape Palliser and visiting the small towns in the Wairarapa where I had never been before. It was nice to have the three day stay at Brackenridge where our cottage was superb. Our travelling companions were an interesting, friendly group and it was lovely to have our guide Chris look after us and get us safely around the country. He was very pleasant, friendly and helpful - all the things a good guide should be. Any problems, he sorted them out. Thank you Chris! I would certainly recommend Moa Tours.
