Cruise the beautiful Queen Charlotte Sound and visit Peter Jackson’s two outstanding exhibitions at Omaka. Lunch in Picton on Christmas Day and travel down the Kaikoura Coast to stay two nights amid the town’s rugged beauty.

I love this itinerary’s variety of land and seascapes. From cruising on Queen Charlotte Sound to Christmas lunch in the pretty port of Picton and the wild, raw Kaikoura coastline giving way to Canterbury farmlands.
